Is Cyprus still a notified jurisdictional area for India?
Short answer
No. India rescinded Cyprus's notification as a notified jurisdictional area on 14 December 2016, with effect from 1 November 2013, and a new India–Cyprus tax treaty came into force the same day.
The new treaty was signed on 18 November 2016, came into force on 14 December 2016 and replaced the 1994 treaty. In India it applies from the financial year beginning 1 April 2017.
