What is the yellow slip?
Short answer
The registration certificate (form MEU1) that EU, EEA and Swiss citizens receive when they register their residence with the Migration Department, formerly the Civil Registry and Migration Department.
You apply within four months of arriving if you stay longer than three months, and show that you work or run a business here, or that you have enough money and full health insurance. No visa and no investment are involved.
The department decides within a month, and the certificate has no expiry date; not applying can bring a fine of up to €2,500. Appointments are usually available two to three weeks after we request them.
