Do Greek citizens need a residence permit in Cyprus?

Short answer

No permit, but a registration. If you stay longer than three months, you apply for the registration certificate (form MEU1, the yellow slip) within four months of arriving.

You register as an employee, as self-employed, or as someone with enough money and health insurance. The Migration Department decides within a month, and the certificate has no expiry date; not applying can bring a fine of up to €2,500.

After five years of continuous lawful residence you can apply for a permanent residence certificate.
