Do I need a permit to move from the Netherlands to Cyprus?

Short answer

No visa or work permit. As an EU citizen you can live and work in Cyprus freely; if you stay longer than three months, you register with the Migration Department within four months of arriving and receive the registration certificate known as the yellow slip.

To register, you show that you work or run a business in Cyprus, or that you have enough money to live on and full health insurance. Family members who are EU citizens register in the same way.

The paperwork that matters most is at home: deregistering from your municipality, your last Dutch tax return, and what happens to your BV, your pension and your health insurance. The answers below take them one at a time.
