How long does temporary protection for Ukrainians in Cyprus last?
Short answer
In EU law, until 4 March 2027. On 15 July 2026, EU countries agreed to extend it to 4 March 2028, with the formal decision to follow.
Under that agreement, new applicants must be meeting their military obligations in Ukraine; people who already hold protection are not affected.
If you plan to stay beyond the protection, a residence permit, for example through a company of foreign interests or the Digital Nomad Visa, is the route to look at in good time.
