Do I have to report my Cyprus bank account to the US (FBAR and Form 8938)?

Short answer

The FBAR, if your foreign accounts together exceeded $10,000 at any time in the year. Form 8938 as well, if you live abroad and your foreign financial assets exceed $200,000 at year-end or $300,000 at any time ($400,000 and $600,000 if married filing jointly).

The FBAR (FinCEN Form 114) is filed online, separately from your tax return. It is due April 15, with an automatic extension to October 15.

Form 8938 goes with your tax return. The two overlap but do not replace each other.
