How long can a UK citizen stay in Cyprus without a visa?

Short answer

Up to 90 days in any 180-day period, as a visitor. Cyprus is not in the Schengen area, so days in Cyprus are counted separately from days in Schengen countries.

The count rolls: on any day, look back 180 days and add up the days you spent in Cyprus. GOV.UK notes that days spent in the north of the island count too.

A visit does not allow work. To stay longer, or to work, you apply for a residence permit before the 90 days are used up.

The EU's ETIAS travel authorisation will apply to Cyprus too once it starts; the European Commission expects that in the last quarter of 2026, and it is not running yet.
