Can a British citizen still move to Cyprus after Brexit?

Short answer

Yes, as a non-EU national. Unless you were living in Cyprus legally before 1 January 2021, you need a residence permit for any stay longer than 90 days in any 180.

UK citizens who were living in Cyprus legally before 1 January 2021 keep their rights under the Withdrawal Agreement. Everyone arriving since then is treated like a national of any other country outside the EU, and applies for temporary residence before the 90 days run out.

Which permit depends on what you will do here. Working remotely for employers or clients outside Cyprus: the Digital Nomad Visa, with a net income of at least €3,500 a month. Working for your own Cyprus company: a residence and employment permit through a company of foreign interests, with a gross salary of at least €2,500 a month. Living on your own income without working: a visitor permit, with at least €2,000 a month paid into a Cyprus bank account. Investing at least €300,000, with a yearly income of at least €50,000: permanent residence.

Permits are issued by the Migration Department, which took over this work from the Civil Registry and Migration Department in 2024. We prepare and submit the application, and your family's applications in the same file.
